Why creative writing?

Creative writing enhances mental clarity, improves self-confidence, lowers stress and anxiety, and can have a significant effect on physical wellbeing. Therapeutic writing, where participants write about traumatic events they've experienced, also has significant psychological, and neurological, benefits. 

Writing about trauma has proven healing power. 

But writers who've experienced been through difficult experiences don't always write about them directly.  You might create fantasy worlds, craft erotica, weave thrilling adventures, or imagine fictional futures. ​​But pain remains present—sometimes resting beneath the surface, sometimes hiding in metaphors, or hindering your creative flow. Sometimes, it sits boldly and unapologetically, at the centre of your story.
